Thanks for sending me your information. I have recorded it for processing. Watch the thread for updates on keyboard shipment timeframe. If I need to contact you directly about this, I will send another PM. Thanks!
如何要求联想寄送t400/t500/w500替换键盘
1、到联想官方论坛forum.lenovo.com注册一个id,
3、Tim PM
1、 全名,邮寄地址,电话;
原帖第340楼,2009年2月3日,Tim最新说明帖:大意说很高兴见到陆续有人收到键盘了。对于美国的消费者,如果在他发这个帖子之前,收到过确认信息,那么他们就能在2月4日收到键盘;

Part 1
I've been following some of the online discussion of the new ThinkPad T400, T500, W500 systems in which experiences seem mixed on whether or not the keyboards exhibit abnormal levels of flex.
When the first comments appeared on Lenovo blogs, our Design Executive, David Hill researched the new keyboard designs and test methods employed by development and blogged the initial findings here.Through feedback in the comments, it was evident that our customers had a lot to say on this subject. Here in the forums, experiences seem mixed.
There is a discussion on the W500on this forum, and member happyfirst, posts his experiences along with a video over on Notebook review. Personally, I was pretty sold by the video until I found I could do something similar on my X60 tablet with effort (more than normal typing produces), so I'm uncertain of the conclusion since there is no accurate display of force being applied in the video, but agree this is worth exploring together here.
I'd like to invite customers who have received a T400 / T500 or W500 to share their impressions here, and would ask that they provide the following information:
1) What Thinkpad model type do you have?
2) Do you have other Thinkpads now or previously? If so, what models?
3) How does the current model keyboard feel ? Compared to other ThinkPads? What have you observed specifically? Please describe in detail - what, when, where, and how ?
4) If you believe your T400 / T500 / W500 keyboard exhibited abnormal flex, what actions have you taken, and what were the results?(Some members havereported exchanging systems, replacing keyboards, or implementing other measures to resolve)
There are a number of possible variables here, and hopefully out of the resulting postings, we can try to isolate them and understand the underlying facts of this matter. With this in mind, let's try to keep the discussion focused as we work together.
Thanks in advance,
Mark Hopkins

Hi folks,
As previously covered in David Hill's blog post, Lenovo implemented a design change to reduce weight of keyboards used in new T/R/W systems. Through forum member feedback on the specific models identified in this thread, and engineering evaluation of field samples vs pre-production models, we have observed tolerance variations in how keyboards are supported on some units. We believe this is the primary factor of the observed flex symptom. Lenovo development continues to evaluate and revise the keyboard support infrastructure to realize weight saving potential, while preserving tactile feel.In the interim, manufacturing has shifted the majority of production to the alternate keyboard design previously used on '61 series systems.
We believe this combination of interim and longer term actions will preserve the solid feel of the keyboards which ThinkPads are well known for.
While not a defect, we understand the feel of the keyboard is very much a matter of personal preference. Customers who are unhappy with the feel of their keyboards may send me a Private Message to arrange receiving a keyboard based on the alternate design (FRU 42T3143 or equivalent P/N for the language required).
To send a private message: Click my user name on the left, then choose "Send this user a private message" under the Contact section of the new page that loads
Please include the following information:
1) Full Name, shipping address, and telephone number
2) ThinkPad MTM and serial number (Click here for details on how to find this information)
I wanted to thank everyone on this forum and the other communities who have participated in this discussion. Your contributions and conversations have helped us better understand the issue and led to changes that will improve the ThinkPad experience for everyone.

Hello everyone,
I'm glad to see some of our overseas customers are receiving their keyboards!
For those in the U.S., everyone who has received a PM confirming receipt of their information before the date/time of this post has had their keyboard shipped! They were shipped on Monday the 2nd via 2-day air, so you should receive your keyboards by tomorrow.
Canadians - I'm sorry to say your keyboards will take a little longer, but they are en-route. If you have received a PM from me before this post, it will take a couple weeks for your keyboards to arrive.
For those outside the U.S. & Canada - As you can see some keyboards are starting to arrive, but these will only be for those who received a response from me before January 7th. The next group of people will be processed shortly, due to the relatively small numbers.
Again I apologize for the delays for those outside the U.S., but unfortunately I have to do my best to work within the system
I'll be going through my PM's shortly and those in the U.S. & Canada should be processed in short order, since we have a bulk of keyboards on hand here.
