1. Er erklärt im Interview, wie er immer wieder gegen das Internet polemisieren und gleichzeitig ein begeisterter User sein kann.
He elucidates/elaborates/illuminates/set forth in the interview how he could argue/dispute against the Internet and be an enthusiastic/crazy/addicted/absorbed user at the same time.
2. Die neuen Technologien waren mir immer willkommen, man muss sich allerdings ständig aufs Neue mit ihnen auseinandersetzen, sich für sie rüsten.
I always welcomed new techniques(New techniques were always popular with me). However, man has to conduct deep research into them constantly and get prepared for them.
3. Ich mag technischen Schnickschnack, es macht mir großen Spaß, neue IT-Produkte zu kaufen und auszuprobieren.
I like technical gadgets. I would really enjoy myself buying and trying out new IT-products.
4) Kürzlich habe ich mir eine externe Festplatte mit 250 Gigabytes Speicherkapazität gekauft. Unglaublich. Ich habe gleich den kompletten Inhalt der italienischen National-Bibliothek drauf gepackt - große Werke der Welt-Literatur.
I bought an external harddisk with a memory capacity of 250 GB recently. Incredible. I've just packed the complete contents of the italian national library into it- great works of the world literature.
5) Wenn ich verreise, stecke ich das Ding einfach in meinen Koffer und packe es in meinem Hotelzimmer in Hongkong wieder aus. Und da habe ich dann immer die komplette Edition von Shakespeares Werken, die Bibel oder den Koran vor mir.
When I make a journey, I would just tuck/stuff everything casually in my suitcase and unpack it in my hotel room in Hongkong. And I would always take there the complete edition of the works of Shakespears, the Bible and the Koran with me.
