英语写作有许多不同技巧，对于不同的同学来说，什么是口语，什么是书面语，都比较难于分清。在这里我想就自己的一些写作的技巧与方法和大家一起分享，并且拿出我自己看的一些书上的内容来与大家讨论一样，以便于所有并不参加我的口语一对一辅导的同学可以自己自学。

口语与书面语不同在于，口语需要的词汇量要小得多。我们初中到高中一直学的都是英语中的口语，对于书面语几乎没有怎么学。这样造成的结果就是写作起来全是口语词汇和用法。在网上看到有的同学敢于拿出自己的文章给其他同学批评，感觉是一件好事。但其实好多问题都是从一开始就可以避免的。7 O8 Y3 e0 S$ D: R2 v! y( G# A
; Q4 V* n1 a- E- ?+ z8 [我在这里争取每个星期写一点自己的东西，所以需要花一些时间，请大家见谅。3 ^$ \8 y% J- J& z# j
$ W7 M! W) U+ A+ {6 l! y; b中国人写作第一大问题就是不够简洁。我第一次写文章时写到the step of time is going faster，英语老师读后立即把它改成了the time is going faster。我问他为什么不能这样写，不能让这种有修辞的方法存在，他就说，这是多余。换句话说，我们中国人认为是好的修饰方法，在英语里是不能随便滥用的。用后只会画蛇添足。8 w7 Z3 b8 F/ `- _" u; y% r/ X

我来举几个常用例子，希望对大家简化写作有启示。这些例子都来自于我对一些看过的书上的句子的总结和归纳，抛砖引玉之用。

; r( R& W; {3 `2) This article will help you master the basic skills of good writing3 K* e. Q+ r9 L3 _
2 d! w8 X( D7 I+ oChanged to: This article will help you master the skills of good writing.

% w' I- X l! V, X* ]5 o4 o! h3) The Search of the forest that they conducted was entirely complete

Changed to : The search of the forest was complete 8 K [# U. {$ N
Or They conducted a complete search of the forest
% H" b- |& J2 F0 N" ?5 r% [2 W2 ^# `3 N8 w
请注意，定语从句一般只用于口语中，写作也有但不要事事都用此句型。因为说话时考虑时间短，则用定语从句较简单，但写作时，这种定语从句都可以换成其它方式代替，简单而好看。
* x5 d+ F& \) h3 w1 Q% ~2 I, l- m0 f: m( O% w; D5 p* P" s
4) While we were playing table tennis, she started her exercises that lasted all morning.
u0 I4 i- t5 X& K( J8 e" w r8 G5 Q
注意，WHILE表时间时的从句，也是一种冗长，只有当用while表转折来描述客观事物时，用在经济写作中才是书面语。所以一般改成如下9 r( j2 S: d, A9 f) h0 p
3 ]1 P: M6 J( T9 P: ~. C) E
During our table tennis she started her exercises that lasted all morning.
9 R% l# \8 b: _! M# f0 T, W/ e3 p% E7 Z- l: u) L! b
5) The wonderful book, which is written in 5 chapters, described a story that took place in the Middle Ages.

这里要注意，遇到定语从句就多想想能否代替一下。最好改成' l- n' e8 _8 i# S7 u
, q- S/ O5 C* P1 hThe five-chapter book has told a story set in the Middle Ages.) H% {4 S! @. J4 E' @ L
! e3 D! l& a6 V& H% f) \1 s# }! E3 l9 H- Q# G5 l7 u* V4 m
和我给大家培训口语时一样，结束时我都会留几个小作业。这里留几句话，请大家来试试能不能改得简洁一些，但意思不变。当然，只能改得更漂亮，不能改丑了：）$ D3 A- c/ N+ d; w) `# {$ w
