叶芝的诗:《Easter,1916》

叶芝的诗  "Easter,1916"。

坦白的说, 这首诗相对较长,据说叶芝在写作时精神处于困扰和迷茫的状态,起义领导者之一是其爱慕对象的丈夫,而他像一个通常温和的人那样既惋惜逝去的鲜活生命,又对暴力对其理想中和谐境界的破坏感到恐惧。诗中传达出一种不安、痛惜与怅惘。全诗抄录于下,有兴趣的读者可以仔细读两遍(不过这诗真的很赞,还是认真读读吧)。2 z) M4 L  p6 e+ M. \

This other man I had dreamed

1 ^, s) M0 ^4 lHe had done most bitter wrong
2 L* W  I( i0 O+ X; ~To some who are near my heart,

He, too, has resigned his part

He, too, has been changed in his turn,( I1 K, l  W% n1 C0 o

A terrible beauty is born.

Hearts with one purpose alone

The rider, the birds that range

A shadow of cloud on the stream$ j4 Q  G; u1 Q! B
Changes minute by minute;

The long-legged moor-hens dive,

The stone's in the midst of all.

Can make a stone of the heart.

As a mother names her child! ^; v0 b7 p! Q. B4 ]% X
When sleep at last has come
7 t, l. I( R* t5 ]3 p! l! mOn limbs that had run wild.
( s" g5 D8 d, S8 L# WWhat is it but nightfall?
" N. u2 V7 Y9 Y' _% ]1 h4 y; HNo, no, not night but death;
% J# N8 T* K) U, K; EWas it needless death after all?* F" f! M* Z( w8 u+ o5 G
For England may keep faith- n" b- j3 r# \3 o
For all that is done and said.
+ y# r1 J  Q. r+ S- M; x- J- VWe know their dream; enough' }" N( M0 z& v$ t: M8 g
To know they dreamed and are dead;

Wherever green is worn,
