叶芝的诗:《Easter,1916》

叶芝的诗  "Easter,1916"。8 s  [0 v5 Q$ h( P" `" M

坦白的说, 这首诗相对较长,据说叶芝在写作时精神处于困扰和迷茫的状态,起义领导者之一是其爱慕对象的丈夫,而他像一个通常温和的人那样既惋惜逝去的鲜活生命,又对暴力对其理想中和谐境界的破坏感到恐惧。诗中传达出一种不安、痛惜与怅惘。全诗抄录于下,有兴趣的读者可以仔细读两遍(不过这诗真的很赞,还是认真读读吧)。% N6 X& f% n' D1 D* H5 m

He might have won fame in the end,

This other man I had dreamed
3 f" r# H4 ?5 f& ^, OA drunken, vainglorious lout./ m, Z! v) G* C4 u' M
He had done most bitter wrong

Yet I number him in the song;4 v- y: X5 {% j& ]! d2 u1 e
He, too, has resigned his part, I0 W$ a5 c; x
In the casual comedy;

A terrible beauty is born.

The rider, the birds that range! N8 Y7 Z4 l2 U  e
From cloud to tumbling cloud,, g9 s& ?0 K( n! |
Minute by minute they change;/ Q% p- C% z0 m
A shadow of cloud on the stream- v' X  t& w, s1 s& r1 w
Changes minute by minute;" N7 W# C( z! t' s, I! m7 W' F- ]
A horse-hoof slides on the brim,) w& }7 q% W% c' L* L& H

The long-legged moor-hens dive,

Minute by minute they live:
1 x% u3 c$ i2 YThe stone's in the midst of all.

Too long a sacrifice

That is Heaven's part, our part

What is it but nightfall?4 Q% o7 c# _- F1 F0 c" z
No, no, not night but death;
: t8 H) d! ~3 w, O( mWas it needless death after all?

: R" G+ r8 n+ |2 u+ j) _4 M8 KFor all that is done and said.

I write it out in a verse -

* _' u7 Z- C% P7 T. j" H/ U7 o2 LAnd Connolly and pearse  l7 h7 N+ k2 V6 I2 |" x3 I
Now and in time to be,
$ w. Z* n+ m* BWherever green is worn,
# Z/ o: z/ x; ]; PAre changed, changed utterly:
1 L, C+ H# P2 n3 |+ L6 j" AA terrible beauty is born.
