I think it is dependent on the context.

( m& j% t' i( W% B9 t; TSimple expressions could be "worried, disturbed, perturbed, anxious etc."

5 p, V! r" R  s; P6 @2 `$ xFor instance, the mother is perturbed by the safety of her child after the earthquake.

In my understanding, "catch my heart" could refer to the attractiveness of sth. It may indicate sth is so catching, appealing, and enchanting  that makes you absorbed.$汗$

The sight of the victims of the heartbreaking  earthquake was torture to me.

3 w0 R/ s" V  \"Perturb" sounds more like being bothered, upset, disquieted etc. To me, it doesn't express the feeling of grief.  I think "torture" might be a better option. $害羞$

Obviously I'm not an ace at it$汗$ . I just picked a word that is commonly used and reformed the sentence. So there should be a word that tells grief but is not desperate......$考虑$ 。 Oh my god, this is too much for me:o . I quit.
