"heed" better be replaced with "attention". "pay attention" is an usual phrase for what you want to express. I almost didn't know what "heed" means in usual English, or should I say, American.

呵呵，可能吧。美语里的确不常见。另外美语里也不说nobody cared a shit, 而是说nobody give a shit.
