I almost lost the chance have been expected for a long time.
i almost lost the chance i had been expecting for a long time.
.....the chance THAT i had been expecting for a long time.
i almost lost the chance expected for a long time.
首先for along time是一个时间段,表示一个持续性的动作,用have been doing比较好
He was expected to be a doctor.

I almost lost the chance which/that had been expected for a long time, 要么 I almost lost the chance (that) I have expected for a long time.
Having expected the chance for a long time, I almost lost it. Having expected the chance for a long time, I almost lost it. Having expected the chance for a long time这个开头强调时间,它以后一般要说等长时间的一个结果,例如Having expected the chance for a long time, I was ready for it when it came along.
I almost lost the chance have been expected for a long time. I almost lost a long-expected chance.
I would say:
I almost missed an opportunity that I had been expecting for a long time. I almost missed an opportunity that I had been expecting for a long time.:)
