freimachen

Flexibility and cost control

Your postage costs are entirely up to you - it all depends on the postage paid impression you choose to use.

Option A.
You'd like to assume the costs for your customers? Then simply use "Entgelt zählt Empfänger" (no stamp required) or a similar text for the postage paid impression.

You pay for the basic postage (e.g. EUR 0.45 for a postcard)

Option B.
You'd like your customers to share the costs with you? Then use one of the following text variations: "Bitte ausreichend freimachen" (please use proper postage), "Bitte freimachen, falls Marke zur Hand" (franking optional) or a similar text. In this case you only pay for the insufficiently franked BUSINESS REPLY items. This yields a number of cost variations (example: postcard).

a. If the customer franks the response card with the complete and proper postage (EUR 0.45), it is handled as a normal item and you do not pay any postage.
b. If the customer franks the postcard with EUR 0.10 instead of the full EUR 0.45, you pay the remaining difference in the basic postage rate, i.e. EUR 0.35.
c. If the customer does not frank the items at all, you pay the entire basic postage rate per item (EUR 0.45).
